[Pokayoke Example] Measures to Prevent Forgetting to Mark with a Grease Pencil

Maintaining the usability of the grease pencil, measures to prevent forgetting to mark.

This is an introduction to a case study on tool development for preventing work omissions (Poka-Yoke) through IoT using industry-leading electric tools. We received a request from an automotive manufacturer to implement Poka-Yoke measures (to prevent forgetting to mark) in the production process using a grease pencil (a retractable colored pencil that can write on various materials such as ceramics, metals, glass, rubber, and plastics), and we made it a reality. [Details] - Utilized the body of the Check Pen S (which contains a wireless module) as is. - Developed a new "pipe section" tailored to the features of the grease pencil, achieving a short development period and low cost. - During the design of the pipe section, both "the length that allows the grease pencil lead to be extended" and "the thickness suitable for the grease pencil" were considered. - Ensured usability while incorporating measures to prevent forgetting to mark.
